Battles Over A Nations Tribute 11th November 2018
BATTLES OVER A NATIONS TRIBUTE - WW1 CENTENARY BEACON LIGHTING EVENT IVER HEATH
11TH OF NOVEMBER 2018
The event is one of nearly 1000 taking place across the country with the beacons being lit as we remember the centenary of the end of World War One. The Royal British Legion and The Ivers Parish Council are hosting this beacon lighting in Iver Heath in the field adjacent to their clubhouse.
The formal part of our event will follow the same programme as those elsewhere in the country and include a bugler, piper and a poem read by local children. In addition, Iver Singers will be leading us in a singalong of music of the period and the Scouts are running their BBQ. The RBL clubhouse will be open throughout.
The event will last for approximately an hour starting at 6:00 p.m. with the beacon lighting at 7:00 p.m.
For those who you are planning to attend please be aware:
• The full event is out of doors and weather dependent. If high winds should make it unsafe to light the beacon we will use social media on the day to update everyone.
• Parking opens at 5:45 p.m. and will close at 8:00 p.m. Parking is on grass. Marshalls will direct you to suitable parking from the entrance on Church Road. • Pedestrian access from Church Road is also available.
• Children must be accompanied and supervised at all times. • No dogs (except assistance dogs) can be brought on site.
We hope to see you there!
We would like to acknowledge the support of both S.B.D.C and Pinewood Studios in staging this event.
