Highways & Infrastructure Committee

The committee has power to spend up to its allocated budget each year.

It makes all spending and other decisions relating to the below and reports on them to the full Council:

  • Parish footway lighting
  • Street furniture under Parish control. This includes the white Parish gates, benches, dog bins, litter bins, noticeboards and bus shelters.

The committee considers policy matters relating to the above and refers these to Policy Committee for approval.

This committee holds a watching brief on and liaises with relevant authorities and organisations involved in national infrastructure projects which impact on The Ivers. It maintains a watching brief on the condition of the highways and footways within the Parish.

The Committee monitors traffic flows as recorded by Temporary Speed Indicating Devices (TSDIDs). These provide data that can support representations in relation to planning applications and infrastructure projects.

The Committee also monitors applications for goods vehicle Operator Licenses.

Amenities Committee

The committee has power to spend up to its allocated budget each year.

It makes all spending and other decisions relating to the matters below and reports on them to the full Council:

  • Green spaces owned or managed by The Ivers Parish Council
  • Allotments at Iver and Iver Heath
  • Playgrounds
  • Iver and Iver Heath Recreation ground
  • Jubilee and Iver Heath Pavilions
  • Trees on land owned or managed by The Ivers Parish Council
  • Burial ground – Iver Lane owned and managed by The Ivers Parish Council

To consider policy matters relating to all the above and to refer these to Policy committee for approval.

Policy, Finance and General Purposes Committee

The committee has power to spend up to its allocated budget each year for administration, personnel, management of office premises, donations and subscriptions, training, insurances, professional services and expenses relating to elections and public inquiries.

To report to full Council regarding policy and strategy matters including local development plans and community plans.

It is responsible for co-ordinating production of the total budget for agreement by full Council and responsible for overseeing expenditure within that budget including the reserves.

It is responsible for setting the Parish Precept and advising South Bucks District Council of this.

It is responsible for health and safety issues and for all matters relating to the internal and external audit.

It makes all decisions relating to the below and reports on them to the full Council:

  • Policies
  • Administration
  • Donations and grants
  • Office premises
  • Personnel changes and general Human Resources matters
  • Professional services and fees
  • Subscriptions
  • Training for staff and councillors
  • Community facilities and events
  • Management of old and new office buildings including the community hub
Planning Committee

The Planning Committee is a non-statutory consultee on all planning matters arising from both Bucks County Council and South Bucks District Council.

The responsibilities of the planning committee are:

  • To comment upon planning applications, enforcement notices and appeals, tree preservation orders, listed building consents, buildings of special architectural interest, historic buildings and the conservation area. Taking account of the views of residents in formulating those comments.
  • To identify comment upon and refer to the relevant authorities any matters considered to be in breach of planning permission.
  • To set up working groups to draw up proofs of evidence for public inquiries as required and to receive the other parties’ proofs and appoint representatives to attend inquiries.
  • To respond to consultations on Local Plans in the area and immediately adjacent local authorities; eg Slough and Hillingdon.
  • To respond to consultations on Minerals and Waste Local Plans.
  • To be aware of changes in Government planning policy that have implications for The Ivers.
  • To create the framework for the neighbourhood plan.
  • To encourage and facilitate public participation in the development of the plan.
  • To monitor the neighbourhood plan once adopted.
  • To report to full Council regarding the local plan and neighbourhood plan.
