The Ivers' community has made a step forward on the road to HGV relief.
Iver Parish Council and representatives from Iver Heath Residents' Association, Iver Community Group, Bangors Road South Residents' Association and Richings Park Residents' Association spent many hours on preparing and presenting their objections to the HS2 proposals, appearing before the Parliamentary Select Committee on Thursday 21st January, televised on the Parliamentary TV channel. We have now put Iver firmly on the map!
Bucks County Council have negotiated an agreement with HS2 to get a small contribution to our relief road with a number of caveats. This was done before the hearing so they did not present our case. South Bucks District Council also did not present our case.
Without the action by the local community there would have been no such agreement. It was a daunting experience especially without the support of our District and County Councils on the day.
The ball is now in Bucks County Council's court and we will all be pressurising them to develop plans for taking a relief road forward to ensure the undertaking that HS2 have given is realised.
