Free Biodegradable Kitchen Caddy Compost Bags!

Free Biodegradable Kitchen Caddy Compost Bags!

Dear Residents,

We have a limited stock of caddy compost bags supplied by Recycle For Buckinghamshire here at the parish council offices - limited to two rolls per person while stocks last. The offices are open Monday to Thursday 9am - 4pm and Friday 9am to 3.30pm to personal callers.

WHY RECYCLE FOOD WASTE?

Food waste that is sent to landfill doesn’t harmlessly breakdown. It has a big impact on the environment as it rots and releases methane – a harmful greenhouse gas that is 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide. However, it’s not all bad news as many of us will be able to recycle our food waste.

YES PLEASE!

Meat & Fish (including bones)
Fruit & Vegetables (including peelings)
Dairy products like yoghurts and cheese
Eggs (including shells)
Bread, pastries & cake
Pasta, rice and beans
Tea bags and coffee grounds
Leftover pet food
Leftovers from plates
Out of date or mouldy food

NO THANKS!

Food packaging
Any non-food items (e.g. glass, garden waste or metals)

The following facts might surprise you:

Recycling just ONE banana peel, could generate enough energy to fully charge a smartphone twice

The peelings from just SIX potatoes could be turned into enough compost to grow a brand new potato
