Public Consultation - Police Station Site

Thames Valley Police is closing the police station on Iver High Street and future policing will be based at Taplow and Amersham. The Parish Council has the opportunity to purchase the entire police station site which includes our present offices. We believe it is vital to maintain a tangible police presence in the parish and, in purchasing the police station site, we can provide the Neighbourhood Police team with a base in The Ivers.

It will also provide a facility for community use. This could include a base for the Good Neighbour scheme, an information hub/internet facility, community library and space for local group activities.

On 9 January 2017 at the full council meeting of Iver Parish Council, it was RESOLVED to seek the approval of the Secretary of State for the Department for Communities & Local Government to apply for a PWLB loan of £500,000 up to 25 years for the purchase of the entire police station site. The repayment of this loan will amount to around £27,000 a year and will be repaid from the precept income. The Parish Council element of the Council Tax for 2017-18 will increase by an average of 18p per week per household to cover our increasing costs and includes repayment of the PWLB loan for the purchase of the police station. This increase is comparable with other parishes in South Bucks. Please ensure your response reaches us by: 10th April 2017
