The Running Stormtrooper's World Record Marathon Attempt

The Running Stormtrooper's World Record Marathon Attempt
There was nothing wrong with your eyes! - some of you may have actually seen a Stormtrooper running through Iver Heath. The Running Stormtrooper is Jez Allinson, a local military man who is attempting to a) set a world record at this year’s London Marathon on April 23 and b) run 40 miles on May 4. As if it’s not hard enough to run those distances under normal circumstances, Jez is running both events in full Stormtrooper costume. Jez is running for the Make a Wish Foundation, a charity which grants last wishes to terminally ill children and a an initiative widely supported by the film industry. On Thursday 4 May, Jez will run approx. 38 miles around Black Park and complete the last two in and around the grounds of Pinewood Studios. The Make a Wish Foundation are fully behind Jez’s fundraising efforts and will be supplying the finish line and volunteer support on the day. Pinewood Studios will be supplying a probably much needed massage and somewhere for him to sit down after! As part of Jez’ training, he ran a few laps around Pinewood Studios and then ran down to Iver Heath Junior School where he met, and had photos taken with, the local children. He raised £128.90 during his visits yesterday, which in addition to his £1931.18 takes him over the £2K mark of his £10K target. If you are interested in sponsoring Jez, donations can be made via www.justgiving.com/rogueone. Thank you for taking the time to read this about a local trying to do a very special thing for a worthy children’s charity.
