COVID19 Response - Hotline Service Closing

Dear Residents

As our community begins to emerge from the coronavirus crisis, calls to the Hotline have declined significantly and for some time requests for support have been reduced to very low levels. We have therefore taken the decision to close the Hotline number down effective from July 31st .This date coincides with changes in Government guidance which includes pausing of shielding for all in the community from August 1st.

Our thanks to Iver Heath Residents Association, Richings Park Residents Association and Iver Village Residents Association who sprang into action in helping us recruit volunteers to hand deliver Hotline information leaflets door-to-door back in March.

We are extremely grateful to the 142 residents who registered as volunteers with the Hotline to help us support the vulnerable in our community during the height of the C19-crisis.

Our thanks also to the back-office team of call handlers and case workers: Residents Caron & Ciaran Beary, Graeme & Wendy Jenner, Ged Weston, Louise Jones, Cllr Ann Mayling, Cllr Carol Gibson and to Cllr Wendy Matthews who liaised with Bucks Adult Care to help particularly vulnerable people receive additional support.

Finally, special thanks to Graham Young and Olivia Mahon of the Ivers Good Neighbour scheme for their fantastic support in setting up and managing the help line and its IT logistics and in securing funding to run it.

For those of you who need ongoing assistance with transport to medical appointments etc., please contact The Ivers Good Neighbour Scheme. To register with the Good Neighbours scheme or to volunteer as a driver please call 01753 358101 or email gns@theivers.org.uk
